How Taptugo works
A plate on your counter. A page that's always right. And ratings that can only come from people who actually walked through your door.
Your business, properly listed
Your opening hours, phone number, address, website, socials — all on one page that people can actually find. Change your hours for a bank holiday and it's right everywhere, straight away. No forgotten Facebook post from last Christmas telling people you're shut.
Setting it up takes a few minutes. We find most of your details for you and you correct anything we've got wrong.
Hold a phone to it, and there you are
Your customer holds their phone near the plate. Their phone asks if they want to open your page, they tap yes, and they're on it. Two or three seconds, start to finish — nothing to download, no app, no sign-up.
And it isn't a tap-to-review plate, or a tap-to-follow plate. It's your whole business on one page: hours, phone, directions, website, every social account you've got, your other review pages — and a rating, if they want to leave one. One plate, not five.
Older phone, or NFC switched off? There's a QR code on the same plate that takes them to your page too. They can see your hours, call you, get directions, save your number — everything.
What the QR code can't do is leave a rating. Only a real tap can do that, and that's on purpose.

You've seen the stickers. This isn't one.
You can buy a tap-to-review sticker online for a few pounds. It holds a web address and hands it to any phone that comes near — which means anyone who's ever tapped it can copy it, and anyone with a blank tag can clone it. The reviews it gathers are worth exactly what they cost to fake.
Your plate holds an NTAG424 DNA chip. Every single tap generates a fresh cryptographic signature that we check before a rating is accepted. It can't be copied, cloned or replayed — not by a competitor, not by anyone.
That's the difference between a rating and a claim.
They leave with everything already saved
One tap and you're in their phone — and not just the name and number. Your address, your website, your email, your Facebook, your Instagram, every social account you've given us. All of it, straight into their address book.
Not a card in a wallet that goes through the wash. Not a number they meant to write down.
For any business people come back to, this is the one that pays for itself.

Ratings from people who were actually there
Your customer taps the plate on the way out and rates you. A few seconds, no forms, no account to create.
S.T.A.R. stands for Secure Tap, Authenticated Rating, and here's why that matters to you: a rating can only come from a phone that was physically held against your plate — verified by the chip, not just assumed. Not from someone who's never been in. Not from a competitor. Not from someone having a bad week about a different shop entirely.
You've probably had a review you knew was nonsense and could do nothing about. This is the answer to that.
You hear it first, and you hear all of it
If someone's unhappy, they can tell you directly — quietly, before it becomes a public problem. Most people would rather tell you than tell the internet, if you give them the chance.
But here's the part that matters: we show that option to everyone, whatever they rated you. We don't hide low ratings, and we never decide who gets asked for feedback based on how happy they seem.
You may have been offered a service that does the opposite — happy customers pushed towards your public reviews, unhappy ones quietly diverted to a private form. It's called review gating, and it's worth knowing that Google explicitly prohibits it. Businesses caught doing it can have reviews stripped, and in serious cases lose their Google listing altogether.
We don't do it, and we never will. A rating people trust has to be a rating that could have gone badly.
See what's actually happening
How many taps. What days, what times. How your rating's moving. Which buttons people press — are they calling you, getting directions, saving your number?
Not guesswork about footfall. An actual count.

Your high street sends people to each other
After someone rates you, Taptugo suggests somewhere else nearby worth a look — and other businesses' customers get suggested you. Only places open right now, only places within walking distance.
A high street does better when it works as one. This is that, made to actually happen.
